Our highlights from New Zealand Techweek2021

As a global organization, amazee.io is privileged to have a “boots on the ground” view of the innovation and creativity behind many of today’s top technologies and trends all over the world. We recently had the opportunity to get the inside scoop on what’s happening in New Zealand as well as share our own insights while attending New Zealand Techweek21.

Techweek is a nationwide event in New Zealand that showcases and celebrates the growth in New Zealand’s technology and innovation sectors. We were happy to join the event and share ideas. Want to know what we talked about? Check out the videos below!

Deploying web applications on Kubernetes, without the pain

There are many great reasons to host your web applications on Kubernetes, except that Kubernetes is really hard! In his session, Toby Bellwood, Product Lead Lagoon at amazee.io, outlined how the Lagoon team has removed most of the complexity from the process, enabling web developers to focus on web development, and not maintaining build systems.

Silverstripe from local to live on Lagoon

Lagoon’s open source and cloud-native components are tailored to accelerating and streamlining application development and delivery, allowing development teams to deploy their applications into Kubernetes without the steep learning curve.

In his talk, Thom Toogood, Head of Services for amazee.io, gave a hands-on demo of developing a Silverstripe project on Lagoon. You can watch the demo portion of his video below.
