Our DrupalCon Global Recap

amazee.io was at the virtual DrupalCon Global

DrupalCon Global may have been virtual, but it wasn’t any less busy for amazee.io! We had a great week of learning, sharing, and (virtually) hanging out with other Drupalists from around the world. Here are some highlights. If you were at DrupalCon but missed these sessions, we’ve linked them to the session page or on-demand content library, which is only available to attendees. If you weren’t able to make it, we’ll update this post when the sessions are made available to the public later this summer!

Vincenzo kicked things off on Tuesday with Pasta al amazee.io on the main stage, which was a hit and left a lot of people craving carbonara. Check out our food repo on GitHub for the recipe!

Pasta al amazee.io at DrupalCon Global

The day continued with the Government summit, sponsored by amazee.io. Later on, Michael moderated a panel discussion, Drupal on the front lines of COVID-19

The amazee.io booth was staffed throughout the week by several of our awesome team, and we had a lot of great conversations! We had a blast talking about Lagoon with current and potential customers. You can check out our booth videos on YouTube.

Tuesday evening, Alanna joined the Drupal Diversity and Inclusion leadership team in presenting their panel session, Volunteer-led Strategies for Helping the Drupal Community. Diversity, equity, and inclusion were strong themes throughout the conference. DDI also offered a three-part Speaker Training for Underrepresented Drupalists, led by Alanna each night of the conference.

Wednesday was the Performance and Scaling summit, where Michael discussed Docker, Kubernetes, and Drupal.

DrupalCon Global #DrupalPets BoF

We wrapped up the conference on Thursday with the highlight of DrupalCon Global for many – the #DrupalPets BoF! Several dozen people showed up to share their pets – from cats and dogs to guinea pigs, rats, horses, and fish. It was a great time and something we could never do at an in-person conference!

We went into DrupalCon Global having little idea of what to expect, but we had a great time. We were still able to connect with people from all over the world to talk about Drupal, technology, and even pasta and pets! We’re looking forward to the next event and hope to see you there!
