A career built on curiosity, collaboration, and lifelong learning has brought Ryan Price to amazee.io, where he will join the team as a Technical Account Manager for our clients in the Americas.

Ryan’s tech journey kicked off in Orlando, Florida, where he gathered his first experiences in building websites while still in college. His freelance work eventually evolved into a full-time job at a magazine publisher, where he worked on Drupal 5 sites for Popular Science Magazine. This experience gave him valuable insight into managing larger-scale web projects within a team environment.

The allure of freelance work drew Ryan back, leading to a diverse range of agency collaborations and in-house positions. This period allowed him to broaden his skillset and work with various types of website CMS, languages, and tools, further solidifying his expertise. Eventually, he landed a position as an architect at FFW, a role that honed his strategic thinking and technical leadership abilities. His connection to amazee.io came through a friend in Portland, and the opportunity to join the team was compelling.

When asked about his proudest job-related skills, Ryan emphasizes his ability to translate complex technical language and ideas to non-techies. He finds satisfaction in diving deep into complex technical topics and making them accessible to a broader audience. His extensive experience across diverse web projects and his independent creations have also equipped him with the agility to grasp new technologies and concepts quickly.

A great day at work for him is when he learns a new skill or idea, passes some of his skills to others, collaborates with colleagues on projects, shares ideas, and gets things done. This desire for teamwork and a positive culture was a significant draw to amazee.io. While he has a history of remote work, Ryan values the close collaboration he anticipates as a Technical Account Manager, working with clients and internal teams.

Ryan’s curiosity and quest for learning aren’t limited to his working life. Outside of his professional life, you’ll find Ryan enjoying quality time in the great outdoors, whether camping, foraging for berries, or fishing. He also enjoys honing his creative skills with woodworking projects, even building a bed for one of his kids. During his time off, Ryan also relishes traveling and exploring new places, particularly the Oregon coast.
