LagoonCon Portland 2024

The Lagoon team has had another busy year. Find out what we've been up to, get a run-down on the new features that are available, and how you can utilize them best.

We're already well underway in our 2024 and beyond planning, so we can share with you some of the items that are on our near (and far) horizons. We'll cover some of our thinking, outline some scenarios, and paint a picture for you.

For those new to Lagoon, we'll cover what Lagoon is, where we see Lagoon fitting into your platforms and workflows, and provide some insight into what a successful Lagoon adoption looks like.

It's cool to pull delicious Italian recipes from unclassified recipe content, but how about feeding intricate technical documentation to the LLM?

Leveraging the potential of LLMs (large language models) to process complex technical documentation presents an interesting use case in API docs and developer portals - especially when combined with data sovereignty and privacy principles. We’ll examine the intricacies of feeding highly technical content into a private LLM, unpacking how this approach aims to help developers swiftly find answers from “Hello World” to complex apps, all while ensuring the data remains 100% sovereign. Having leveraged Lagoon, we'll discuss how an open-source hosting option played a role in deciding on our tooling, with a particular focus on the flexibility Lagoon offers, alongside the AI innovation the Lagoon community is undertaking.

We will explore the setup, outcomes, and takeaways, emphasizing why maintaining the privacy of data fed into the LLM is paramount for the end customer.

The Open Website Alliance was co-founded by major open source CMS communities TYPO3, Drupal, and Joomla. It represents an open effort to enhance web technology standards and practices across these applications. Lagoon provides Open Source web hosting solutions based on Kubernetes. Its developer-first approach promotes flexibility, reliability, and open source from top to bottom, significantly reducing web developers’ operational overhead.
