Dealing with unprecedented scale during COVID-19

Hear Sean Hamlin, a Technical Account Manager at amazee.io, discuss dealing with unprecedented scale during COVID-19 and the 80x traffic increase experienced over the last few months, by some of the health-related sites that we host. This talk is about dealing with this scale of traffic, and what you can do to survive it.

Some of the things that will be discussed:

• Horizontal scaling
• Database sizing and tuning
• Redis tuning and gotchas
• Minimizing origin hits
• CDN tuning
• Building a culture of continuous improvement

The talk is aimed at anyone with performance in mind and there'll be plenty of time for Q&A.

Lagoon’s open source and cloud-native components are tailored to accelerating and streamlining application development and delivery, allowing development teams to deploy their applications into Kubernetes without the steep learning curve.

Join Thom Toogood, Head of Services for amazee.io, for a hands-on demo of developing a Silverstripe project on Lagoon. We'll go from creating a new project all the way through to a deployment on a production cluster, covering the development process along the way.

The talk will finish up with a question and answer session for anyone interested in more information.
