Taking steps to further improve the developer experience: amazee.io joins Mirantis

I am excited to announce that amazee.io has joined the global team at Mirantis.

The opportunity to combine amazee.io’s developer-centric platform and services with Mirantis’ ZeroOps Kubernetes platform and Lens K8s IDE is transformational for both our organizations, and it will provide our clients with the only ZeroOps software delivery hub built by developers for developers - on and off the web.

amazee.io was founded in 2017, with the mission to ease the life of developers. The global team empowered our clients to focus on outstanding digital experiences by solving the complexities of the underlying infrastructure and operations layer. Along the way, we built Lagoon, a robust, highly scalable platform for web projects, that is trusted by developers and organizations around the world.

What does this acquisition mean for users and customers?

Being part of the larger Mirantis team will allow us to accelerate our product roadmap. Customers can expect support for all major web technologies and frameworks, giving them the full freedom of choice without any infrastructure and operations hassle. We will invest in a seamless self-service experience and ease of use of our platform, including UI enhancements and enriched dashboards.

Secondly, Mirantis which helps organizations ship code faster on public and private clouds will leverage amazee.io’s initiated open source platform Lagoon. Lagoon is an application delivery platform, available on GitHub under Apache License 2.0. More specifically, it is a cloud-native platform for the deployment, management, security, and operation of modern applications. Lagoon greatly reduces the requirement for developers to bring along cloud-native experience or knowledge.

By adding Lagoon to the existing Mirantis portfolio, we will deepen the capabilities of Lagoon to support more complex business applications and use cases. This, in turn, will further accelerate the adoption of Lagoon within the growing Kubernetes ecosystem and community.

In today's world of developer demand and talent scarcity, we will continue our “As-a-Service” journey. With only 45 million developers predicted to serve our global economy by 2030, the “War for Talent“ will intensify. Successful organizations react now and create environments that provide their developers with the space and tooling for efficient production and productivity. Mirantis and amazee.io are creating developer-centric environments and services, designed to help teams make the most of their talent.

Together, we will unite a truly ZeroOps developer-centric software delivery hub for modern applications - ZeroOps, open source, and “As-a-service” allowing enterprises to focus and innovate on their core business.

The entire team at amazee.io is proud of what we’ve built in collaboration with our customers, partners, and the larger open source community. We are ready to accelerate our journey together with Mirantis - a true open source pioneer. This is an important milestone with the best yet to come.
